Ebel X-1 Xtremly Trendy

Ebel has come out with a seriously trendy watch collection.  The Ebel  X-1.  The design has a clunky sporty side with a distinct underlying elegance. I really like this collection of watches as they fit right into the current stylistic arena while still maintaining an ebel fluidity and sensuality so distinct in its beluga lines.
The mid-range ladies watches run from $2,500 to $7,900 price range based on gold content and diamonds.

Model# 1216117 Price: $4,900.00

The model depicted above is my favorite based on its rare color and rose gold accentuations.  The hue is the result of brushed and polished PVD-finished stainless steel. The silver galvanic dial adds a mysterious edgy charm beneath a scratch resistant sapphire crystal.  Sapphire Crystal is a must for mid-to upper range watches.  Lower Range watches like Michael Kors will have mineral crystal - not as hard as Sapphire Crystal and more prone to scratches.

Model#1216107 Price:$2,500
The women's  34mm brushed and polished stainless steel is a classy everyday watch with an elegant edge. At $2,500, this model is the most least expensive of the line; however still maintaining the exquisite representation of quality and worth.  As with the other models, the stainless steel model is water resistant to 100meters.   Click here for more info on water resistance.

Model#1216116 Price: $7,900
At $7,900 this polished white ceramic and 18k rose gold case accentuated with a 15 diamond crown and a 48 diamond rose gold bezel is definitely the dressiest of the group.  The watch is a relished beauty suited for the most elegant of occasions and equipped for the week day wear. The movement, as all these models, are quartz.  A Quartz watch is powered by a battery and utilizes an electronic oscillator regulated by  quartz crystal.  As a result of the battery, a quartz watch requires no external energy source and thus requires little attention the actual mechanism of the timepiece.  About 90% of women's watches are quartz whereas about 60% of men's.  Obviously in the low range watches this percentage increases.  In the high range watches - where women's and men's watches run into the ten or hundred thousand mark, the percentage of quartz watches decrease; however more so for men's watches than women's watches. Whereas there is virtually no quartz watch in men's higher range watches, you still may find a couple women's watches, but as of late high-end watches for women are incorporating mechanical movements.

Mechanical movements require a constant outside source of energy provided by the swinging motion of ones arm triggering the movement of a rotor (mostly situated at the back of the watch - best material for this is tungsten), which winds the mainspring.  Watches powered this way are called automatic watches. The watch automatically winds by the swinging motion of ones arm. Manual mechanical watches require winding at the crown.    Increments of time are regulated by the precise motion of the balance wheel.
Mechanical watches require attention to the power reserve  of the timepiece, and can be somewhat of a hassle for a lady who has as many watches as shoes. If all her watches are mechanical and she does not utilize a watch winder, than more often than not her watches  have stopped calling for an exasperating excuse of lateness.
I suppose that is why many ladies watches are quartz.
As usual I went a bit off topic, but all in the name of horological education.

Ebel Adds Khaki to its Classic Sports Chrono Collection

Go sporty! Go Khaki! Ebel is jumping on the Khaki bandwagon
with its newest additions to its Classic Sports Chrono Watch Collection. In addition other new natural colors will also become available - beige, brown, coral pink and navy. It seems Khaki has become the "must have" color, and why not - Khaki is the color that most evokes a sense of wild adventure.

The newest models have the signature hexagon shaped case, and distinctive screws surrounding the dial. The Chronograph seconds hand matches the strap color providing an intriguing aesthetic quality to the watch. The dial sports three sub dials, but still the dial is easy to read and clutter free. The Classic Sports Chrono is protected by a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 50mm. The watch has a polished smooth finished with elegant pushers on the side.
Vertical indented striping on the rubber strap adds to the watches overall sporty look. Ebel has not released any pricing on its latest version, but being that this watch is crafted in steel, and is powered by a quartz ETA movement as opposed to a more labor intensive mechanical movement, the price will probably be quite affordable.

A Luxury Watch in your Jewerly box.

There are many Glittering Luxury Watches that fulfill the role of jewelry. That are jewerly. A prime example is the Joallerie 101 Manchette, a slender watch from Jaeger LeCoultre. Yes Watch! If you look closely, you will see the Joaillerie 101 Manchette with it silver colored dial and sapphire crystal. The watch ,although small, can hold its own, it uses the mechanically wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101 movement. The watch is available with either 576 diamonds or 11 onyx cabochons. The price? Jaeger-LeCoutre has not name a price for this watch as of yet. It is popping up in various places as being one of the worlds most expensive watches in the Current Luxury Watch market. However, if this type of watch appeals to you, do not panic.

The Corum Debutante Ladies' Watch is the perfect evening watch for the perfect evening. Its mother of pearl dial shimmers against the elegant diamond encrusted bezel. No other piece of jewelry is required on the wrist wearing this watch. The feature I love about this watch is that it is four watches in one. This watch comes with four alternate stainless steel bangles :diamonds; 74 peridots; 74 blue topaz and 74 pink topaz. So whatever your mood, or the color of your dress; you will have a choice. A Precise quartz movement means that it will run from event to event.

Audemars Piguet Facettes Ladies' Watch is deliciously smothered in 890 diamonds; beneath the diamonds rests 18K white gold. The watch simply breathes elegance and taste. A piece of watch jewelry like this will not go unnoticed. This watch will not take the spotlight away from the wearer, it will add to it.

A watch for a bride. Chopard Casmir Ladies' Watch nestles among luscious creamy pearls. When purchasing this watch, you can be assured, this watch will become a family heirloom to past from mother to daughter. I like this watch as it represents a gentle sense of femininity and elegance.

Rado Esenza for the woman who knows what she wants and means to get it. A serious watch. A Watch with a sharp conrast and stark edges: Black Dial, Diamond Bezel and Black leather strap. This watch is perfect for that formal function one must attend.

Concord Soiree Ladies' Watch is a perfect gift for the dashing fiancée to give to his bride. The shape of the watch and its open bracelet loops, suggest infinity. Infinite is the love of two people who give each other the hand in marriage. Am I going a bit mushy, I suppose I am, but it is the effect this gorgeous watch has on me.

I was about to end my post; however , I felt this posting would not be complete without an Ebel Beluga watch. 18K gold and mother of pearl dial, this luxury watch whispers sensuality. The mother of pearl dial softens the color of gold. The Ebel Beluga watch will suit any women, no matter the age or style. The Ebel Beluga is a watch that can be an integral part of a women's persona, never leaving her wrist. This watch will be the constant piece of jewelry on a womens wrist when no other jewelry is needed.
